The NTOC team is a group of friendly and knowledgeable individuals that value each patient’s eye care experience.  All team members are well-trained and up-to-date on the latest technologies and techniques to make your visit as comfortable and effective as possible.

Shauna Henry

Shauna Henry

Shauna has been working alongside Dr. Amarnath and Dr. Peacock since the Optometrists started their practice in 2002.  Her role includes administration and overseeing customer service to ensure that every patient’s experience is pleasant, timely and educational.

She is a certified Optometric Assistant whose post-secondary studies in marketing and business administration, coupled with an extensive retail background, enable her to assist the NTOC team with bringing a unique approach to customer service and patient care.  She enjoys working with patients and meeting new people, and finds it most rewarding when the NTOC team has more than exceeded patient expectations.

Shauna is married with two children, and when not at the clinic, she enjoys time with family and friends, volunteering at the local food bank, renovating her home, walking with her dogs, horseback riding, and reading.

Jeffrey Clarke

Jeffrey Clarke

Jeff originally hails from Brantford, Ontario, where he first gained experience working at an optometry practice during a high school co-operative course.  Due to his love for the field, he went on to maintain part-time positions at several optometry practices while pursuing a career in optometry.  This pursuit led him to the University of Waterloo for his undergraduate degree in General Science.  He then attended the Georgian College Opticianry Program, successfully graduating in 2009 while working part-time with the NTOC team. 

Jeff is currently in Birmingham, England, where he is studying to obtain his Doctor of Optometry.  He returns home each summer to work with the NTOC team, and upon completion of his four-year program, he will return to settle in the Simcoe County area and practice optometry full-time with our team of Eye Care Professionals.

Karrie van der Meer

Karrie is a year 2000 Honours Graduate of the Georgian College Opticianry Program in Barrie.  She joined the NTOC team in 2003 after returning to her home town of Alliston from Saskatoon.  During her time in Saskatoon, Karrie was able to develop her skills as an Optician while working at a large optometry practice.  She attends regular continuing education seminars to keep updated on the latest trends and technologies.

Karrie particularly enjoys choosing the latest fashion frames and sunglasses for our eyewear boutique.  She also loves seeing the surprise  on our patients’ faces when they try on their “new eyes” for the first time.   

Karrie is married and enjoys spending time with family and friends.  She is a dog lover and her Border Collie, Cooper, keeps her very busy and entertained.

Ashley Richards

Ashley joined the NTOC team in 2010, and has been excited to be working alongside our Doctors and trained professionals who continually strive to offer exceptional patient care.

Ashley is a licensed Optician who graduated with Honours from the Opticianry Programme at Georgian College in Barrie.  She regularly attends continuing education to keep abreast of changes in the optical world.

She was raised in Northern Ontario and is married with two children.

Janet Murray

Janet is a Registered Optician with a strong background in retail, business administration and customer service.  As a second career, she graduated with Honours from the Opticianry Program at Georgian College, and enjoys the atmosphere of a busy optometry practice.

She advises patients on frame selection, and the latest technologies in lens designs and coating options.  She also enjoys assisting patients with their contact lens choices.

When not working, Janet enjoys outdoor activities with her family.

Sarah Ferber

Sarah has been an integral part of the NTOC family from its inception in 2002, and has been working in the optical industry since the age of 19. She completed her CCOA certification in 2006, and is now one of the clinic's Frame and Lens Specialists. With a keen eye for style, Sarah loves the challenge of finding each person their perfect pair of glasses. Having extensive experience in NTOC's in-house edging lab, she is well-versed in the latest lens technologies and trends. It is always her goal for you to have a memorable, fun, and educational experience.

Sarah lives in Alliston with her husband, and is a lover of music, travel, cooking, sailing, camping, and spending time with family and friends.

Elizabeth Pereira

Elizabeth has been working with Dr. Amarnath and Dr. Peacock since the first day they opened their clinic in 2002, and she has witnessed the steady growth of our practice in the Alliston community.

As a certified Optometric Assistant, Elizabeth advises patients on frame selection, the latest technologies in lens designs, and coating options.  She attends regular continuing education seminars to keep on top of our industry trends.  She loves making a difference in the lives of each patient, and thoroughly enjoys the interaction her role provides her.

Elizabeth is from Zimbabwe, is married with three children, and is the proud “Nana” of six wonderful grandchildren.  When relaxing, she enjoys time with her family, volunteering at her church, travel, camping, hiking and bike riding.

Deane Piercey

Deane attended the Georgian College Opticianry Program in 1996.  She completed the Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant Program in 2008.  Her educational background, along with her outstanding customer service skills, guarantee you a welcoming and educational visit to our clinic. 

Deane has been a member of the NTOC team since 2007 and has worked in the optical healthcare industry since 1996.  Her role involves ensuring that every patient is educated on the latest technologies in frames and lens designs, and she provides an efficient and pleasant visit for each patient. Deane is also one of NTOC’s lab technicians in our in-house finishing lab.

Deane enjoys volunteering at her childrens’ school as a member of the School Council, as well as spending time with family and friends.

Dawn Scott

As a certified Optometric Assistant, Dawn joins the NTOC team from Alberta and has been employed in the optical field since October of 2007.   She is looking forward to meeting new people and providing them with a memorable eyecare experience at NTOC.

Dawn is married with one child, and in her spare time, she enjoys music, learning guitar, and singing.  She also enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and watching movies.

Shauna has been a valuable member of the NTOC team since 2005.  In 2008, she successfully completed the Optometric Assistant Program.  She continues to attend continuing education seminars in order to hone her skills in leadership and customer service.

Shauna’s role includes administration, patient testing, and her organizational skills at the front desk ensure an efficient and enjoyable visit for all of our patients.  …….

Diane Osborne

Diane joined the NTOC team in 2007. Her warm smile is one of many that will greet you when you enter our clinic.  Diane is fully trained in various facets of the pre-testing phase of your visit and is also one of the technicians who regularly administer the visual fields testing.

Her experience working in various administrative capacities, along with her post-secondary education, has provided a thorough understanding of the importance of individual patient care.   Diane is proud to be a part of a team who highly pride themselves in making each patient’s visit a unique and memorable eye care experience. 

Diane and her husband have two sons and a dog named Chico.  She enjoys leisurely walks by the lake, reading, volunteering at her church, kayaking, camping and cross-country skiing.

Kelly Clarke

Kelly Clarke

Kelly joined the NTOC team in June of 2011.  She is one of the first smiling faces you will see when you come in to the clinic.  She loves being part of such a wonderful team, and truly enjoys assisting our patients.  In addition to her Front Desk duties, she also administers GDx testing and is learning the intricacies of visual field testing.

Kelly brings to the team a past work experience that ranges from construction lab tech to service advisor in the automotive and heavy equipment industry.  Her positive attitude and customer service skills make her a valuable member of the NTOC team.

Kelly is the proud mom of a young girl, and is expecting her second child in May 2012.  She enjoys movies, music and spending time with her growing family.

Kim Sledz

Kim joined the NTOC team in 2008.  She is another of the friendly smiles you will encounter upon entering our clinic.  In addition to reception and related duties as well as special projects, Kim’s organizational skills contribute to an efficiently run in-house finishing lab. 

Kim has many years of administrative experience and an extensive background in the customer service industry.  She has completed two courses in customer service.  Kim finds that working with our patients is the most enjoyable part of her job.

Kim is married with a family of two children and three dogs.  When not at work, she enjoys long walks, snow-shoeing in the winter months, reading and crafts.

Mary Anne Gosselin

Mary Anne joined the NTOC team in June of 2011.  With her friendly smile comes many years of administrative experience in the health care field.
In addition to assisting on the Front Desk, Mary Anne is one of our technicians who regularly administers visual field and GDx testing.  She enjoys working with our patients and strives to make their visit a comfortable and enjoyable one.
Mary Anne is married with one child, and when not at work, she enjoys baking, camping, cross-stitching, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Mary Ann Yeomans

Mary Ann has been employed in the optical industry since 1996.  She joined the NTOC team in May 2011.  She takes great pride in working in the on-site finishing lab, making quality glasses for our patients.  She also has a knack for frame repairs and adjustments, and she enjoys helping patients choose their frame for their new glasses.

Mary Ann has lived north of Alliston for the past 20 years, and has been married for 35 years with two grown children.  She has a particular passion for kayaking in the summer months.
